My story begins young. When I was three, my grandmother passed away while doing my hair. She became my first spiritual guide and, in many ways, my first experience with knowing that love doesn't end when someone dies.

My brother passed away when I was nine. My childhood held a lot. I was raised FLDS, and my dad had three wives. I was later baptized Mormon, eventually left religion, and had to figure out for myself what I believed and who I was outside of everything I had been taught.

I married young. I became a mother young. And when my first marriage ended, I went through what I can only describe as a complete ego death and dark night of the soul while raising two very small children. Somewhere in that unraveling, I had a spontaneous Kundalini awakening. It changed the direction of my life.

Yoga became a huge part of my journey, but the body had already been important to me. I loved Olympic lifting and CrossFit and became a personal trainer, teaching people how to move safely and become stronger in their bodies. Eventually I realised I wanted to understand more than the physical body. I wanted to understand what was underneath it.
